Społeczność Szkoły Podstawowej nr 5 w Kole obejrzała tuż przed Świętami piękne jasełka oparte były na ciekawym scenariuszu – oprócz tradycyjnej szopki, Maryi z Józefem i Dzieciątkiem, pokłonu pasterzy i wędrówki trzech królów, na pierwszy plan inscenizacji wysunęły się dzieci, mające wybór między dobrem a złem. Z jednej strony złe moce kusiły uczniów podarkami i pozorną swobodą, z drugiej strony anioł obiecywał zbawienie. Dzieci po zastanowieniu się wybrały właściwą drogę, a w decyzji wspomagał je anielski chór – który energicznie śpiewał najpiękniejsze kolędy. Młodzi aktorzy bardzo się postarali, by sugestywnie odegrać swe role. Szkolna publiczność nagrodziła artystów gromkimi brawami.
Jasełka dla całej społeczności szkolnej przygotowali: Marzena Maciejewska i Grzegorz Maciejewski. W role Maryi i Józefa wcielili się szóstoklasiści, sceny odgrywali uczniowie z klas 2, 3, 4 oraz z klasy 7 członkowie samorządu uczniowskiego, z kolei w anielskim chórze wystąpili, drugo-, trzecio- i czwartoklasiści. Całość wypadła rewelacyjnie.
